Job Summary
Houseparents for Milton Hershey School provide daily supervision, mentorship, and care for ~8–13 students in on-campus homes. Couples reside in student homes, manage household routines, administer medications, coordinate transportation to activities, and lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel. The role includes budgeting and reporting, with an initial nine-on/two-off schedule that may progress to a placed houseparent assignment living with the same group of students. Requires strong integrity, professionalism, and the ability to support students’ academic, emotional, and social development in a family-like environment. Benefits include a $46,917 per-person salary plus comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, paid training, and PTO.
Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Comfort leading students in devotions and Chapel services
- Experience with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
