Job Summary
Milton Hershey School seeks married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents in on-campus student homes, residing with a group of 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and participating in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from Flex Houseparent to Placed Houseparent over time. The role operates on a nine-on, three-off schedule, with relocation assistance provided. Compensation includes salary per person (~$44,768) plus comprehensive benefits and housing/meals; relocation and paid training are included. Both spouses must complete individual applications for consideration.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-spouse requirement for applying (both spouses must apply)
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- No more than three dependent children in home
- Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Comfort leading devotions and Chapel services
- Flexible schedule (nine consecutive days on, three off)
- Relocation to Hershey, PA and Wayne, NJ locations
- Full-time on-campus housing and meals provided
- Living in student home with 8–13 students
- Ability to certify to drive student home vans
