Job Summary
Houseparents for Milton Hershey School reside in on-campus student homes and, as a two-person married couple, provide care, mentorship, supervision, and support for a group of ~8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule and may transition to a Placed Houseparent with continued residence in a student home. Benefits include salary per person (~$44,768), comprehensive insurance, retirement, relocation assistance, and paid training. Qualifications require a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license with ability to become certified to drive student vans, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus with limited pet allowances; both spouses must be legally married for at least two years and be 27 or older to be considered.
