Job Summary
Houseparents for Milton Hershey School are full-time Flex Houseparents who reside in on-campus student homes, supervising and mentoring a group of 8–13 students, managing household routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, leading daily devotions and chapel, and overseeing budgeting and reporting. The role starts with a nine-day-on, three-day-off schedule and can transition to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same group of students. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- This is a two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
