Job Summary
Houseparents for Milton Hershey School (MHS) — married couples live in on-campus student homes, provide care and guidance to 8–13 students, supervise household routines, administer medications, drive students to activities, lead devotions and Sunday Chapel, manage budgeting and reporting. Initial schedule is nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with transition to a placed Houseparent living in a dedicated student home. Salary per person is $44,768 with comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance; requires two-person, legally married couple with both spouses aged 27+, valid driver’s license, high school diploma or GED, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and commitment to a smoke- and weapon-free campus.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
