Job Summary
Provide daily supervision, mentorship, and guidance to a group of 8–13 students while managing household routines, schedules, and medication administration. Drive students to activities and actively engage them in developmental and recreational programs, including leading daily devotions and accompanying them to Sunday Chapel. Oversee budgeting and household reporting, ensuring a structured, family-like environment supports academic, emotional, and social growth. On weekdays, utilize unscheduled time while students are in school. Transition into a Placed Houseparent role after initial support of various homes. This two-person position requires a legally married couple residing on-campus at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, with a schedule of nine consecutive duty days followed by three days off. Full-time employment offers a salary of $46,917 per person, including free housing, meals, and relocation assistance.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
Desired Qualifications
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
