Job Summary
Oversee morning and evening routines, prepare nutritious meals, and supervise homework for a small group of students living in a family-like home environment. Coordinate extracurricular and community service activities while managing household cleanliness, organization, safety, and budgeting. Transport students to school activities and appointments, observe and report student progress, and address behavioral issues using positive behavior supports. Collaborate with clinical, educational, and residential teams to implement school-wide policies and help students navigate personal challenges. This role requires living on campus in a structured schedule that may include evenings and weekends, with a focus on cultural competence and patience. Houseparents serve as a critical link between the student home and the broader school community at Milton Hershey School.
Required Qualifications
- experience working with children or youth in settings such as education, social services, counseling, youth ministry, coaching, or residential care
