Job Summary
Married couples serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents on-campus at Milton Hershey School, supervising and mentoring 8–13 students in a home setting. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and participating in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and reporting, and transitioning to a Placed Houseparent with the same student group. Compensation per person is $44,768 annually (about $168,000 per couple when including housing and benefits); relocation assistance and paid training are provided. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, two years of marriage, both spouses aged 27+, a valid driver’s license, the ability to lift 50 lbs, and experience with youth; duties emphasize a structured, family-like environment and dedication to student development.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years married
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
