Job Summary
Houseparents, Full-Time Flex Houseparents for Milton Hershey School: a two-person married couple reside in on-campus student homes to provide care, supervision, and guidance for groups of 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and reporting, and transitioning to a placed houseparent role. Initial schedule is nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off; relocation assistance is provided. Salary is $44,768 per person (approximately $168,000 total per couple) with comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision, retirement, PTO, and housing/meal benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-spouse, legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading devotions and Judeo-Christian chapel services
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- No alcohol permitted while on duty
- Ability to be certified to drive student home vans
- Experience working with youth or volunteering with youth
