Job Summary
Two-person married-couple role as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School, residing on-campus in Hershey, PA, to provide care, supervision, and guidance for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and reporting. Schedule begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person around $44,768 (approximately $168,000 total per couple when including housing and meals), comprehensive medical benefits, relocation assistance, paid time off, and training.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-year marriage duration (married for at least two years)
- Both spouses aged 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role models for students
Additional Requirements
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
