Job Summary
Married couples are hired as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School to reside in on-campus student homes and supervise 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role follows a nine-on, three-off schedule initially, with eventual placement as a Placed Houseparent living with the same group of students. Relocation assistance and paid training are provided; compensation is approximately $46,917 per person (about $180,000 per couple) including housing and benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for married couple
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
- Prohibited activities: no alcohol on duty, smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- No more than three dependent children living in the student home
- Two individuals must complete individual employment applications
