Job Summary
Houseparents for Milton Hershey School are a Full-Time, two-person couple role residing in on-campus student homes, providing care, supervision, and guidance for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with a nine-on, three-off schedule, supporting various student homes, with eventual placement into a consistent home. Relocation assistance is provided. Requires a legally married couple aged 27+, with high school diploma or GED, driving capability, ability to lift 50 lbs, and a commitment to a safe, religiously respectful campus environment.
Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for married couples
- Legally married for at least two years for both spouses
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Chapel services
- No more than three dependent children in the home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Certification to drive student home vans (upon hire)
