Job Summary
Houseparents (Full-Time) live on-campus at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, serving as a two-person married couple in a Flex Houseparent role. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students (8–13 per home), managing household routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and leading developmental activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel, budgeting and reporting, and maintaining a structured family-like environment. The role begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement in a single student home. Requires high school diploma or GED, valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and experience with youth; couples must be legally married for at least two years and both spouses must be 27 or older to be considered. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
- Proven ability to supervise and mentor youth in a residential setting
- Ability to drive student home vans (certification on completion)
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism in a school environment
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA for on-campus housing and work
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- High school diploma or GED required
