Job Summary
Houseparents for Milton Hershey School are a two-person, full-time role for legally married couples (minimum two years). Couples live on-campus in student homes, supervise and mentor 8–13 students, manage household routines, supervise medications, transport students to activities, plan and engage in development and recreation, lead devotions and Sunday Chapel, and oversee budgeting and reporting. The schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement into a consistent student-home assignment. Includes relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits; salary is $46,917 per person (approximately $180,000 total per couple) plus housing, meals while on duty, utilities, and more.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-spouse team must apply separately
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Ability to reside on-campus in student homes
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
