Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School reside in on-campus student homes to care for a group of 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off to a Placed Houseparent role with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person, relocation assistance, comprehensive health benefits, retirement savings, paid time off, and on-duty housing and meals. Both spouses must complete individual employment applications for consideration.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-year married minimum? (implied by two-person role)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to lead daily devotions and Chapel services
- Comfort with student supervision and transportation
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- No alcohol on duty
- Able to become certified to drive student home vans
