Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents reside in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School, providing care, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with a nine-consecutive-day on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement into a Fixed Houseparent role living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person around $44,768 plus comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, paid training, and PTO.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two spouses must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Chapel services
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
