Job Summary
Houseparents, Full-Time Flex Houseparents, live in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School to supervise 8–13 students, provide care, mentorship, and guidance, manage household routines and student schedules, administer medications, drive to activities, plan and engage in developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and oversee budgeting and reporting. The role begins with a nine-days-on, three-days-off cycle and transitions to a Placed Houseparent living and working with the same group of students. The position offers relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, and salary per person around $46,917 with total compensation for a couple around $180,000, including housing and meals on duty.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- Spouses both aged 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Ability to drive student home vans
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- No alcohol on duty
- Pet limitations (fish and one dog)
- Protections against proselytizing
- Ability to relocate to Hershey, PA
