Job Summary
Provide daily supervision, mentorship, and guidance for 8–13 students in on-campus homes while managing household routines, schedules, and medication administration. Drive students to activities and lead devotions and chapel services, while overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Initially support multiple homes on a nine-on, three-off rotation before transitioning to a Placed Houseparent role with a single student group. Both spouses must be married for at least two years, aged 27 or older, and hold valid driver's licenses to operate student vans. This role fosters a structured, family-like environment for pre-K through 12th grade students at Milton Hershey School, which offers free education, housing, and meals.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- This is a two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
Desired Qualifications
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
