Job Summary
Houseparents (Full-Time Flex) for married couples at Milton Hershey School. Couples reside in on-campus student homes to provide care, supervision, and guidance for ~8–13 students, including supervising daily routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and leading developmental/ recreational activities, daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting, and household reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off; eventually transition into a placed Houseparent living and working with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person (~$46,917) with total compensation around $180k per couple, relocation assistance, comprehensive health benefits, retirement options, paid time off, and training. Requires a high school diploma or GED, validity to drive student vans, and two-year married status for both spouses who must be 27+; willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA; on-campus housing and a fully supervised environment for student welfare.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role-models for students
- Prolonged on-campus residence and caregiving responsibilities
