Job Summary
Houseparents (two-person, married-couple) provide on-campus supervision and mentorship for 8–13 students in residence homes, manage daily routines, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan and engage in developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions, and participate in Sunday Chapel. The role starts with a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule and transitions to a Placed Houseparent where the couple lives with their group in a student home. Compensation is per person with relocation assistance provided; benefits include medical/dental/vision, retirement options, paid time off, and housing/food while on duty. Requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license with driver certification, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke- and weapon-free campus. Both spouses must apply individually for consideration. Relocation to Hershey, PA is required with on-campus housing and a strong emphasis on safety, integrity, and student development.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-year minimum marriage duration for both spouses
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role modeling for students
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Capacity to reside in on-campus student homes and manage group living for 8–13 students
- Willingness to follow a schedule of nine consecutive days on duty and three days off
- Passport/relocation readiness to Hershey, PA (relocation provided)
- Comfort leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel
- Ability to manage budgeting and household reporting
- Strong supervision and mentorship capabilities
- Ability to drive student activities and supervise developmental/recreational activities
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
- Background check and training compliance
- Ability to work as part of a two-person team (married couple)
