Job Summary
Two-person married-couple role living in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School. Flex Houseparents provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for approximately 8–13 students per home. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and chapel, and overseeing budgeting and reporting. Initial schedule is nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a placed houseparent living and working with the same student group. Benefits include salary per person with comprehensive coverage, relocation assistance, paid training, and time off. For consideration, both spouses must submit individual applications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-spouse requirement: both spouses must complete individual employment applications
- Valid U.S. driver’s license or ability to obtain
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Chapel services
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples
- At least two years married for eligibility (as per job description)
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- No more than three dependent children in the home
