Job Summary
Houseparents for Milton Hershey School serve as Full-Time Flex Houseparents in on-campus student homes, supervising and mentoring a group of about 8–13 students, including medications administration, driving to activities, and planning developmental, devotional, and recreational activities. The role starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement as a dedicated houseparent in the same student home. Responsibilities span daily supervision, household routine management, budgeting and reporting, guiding students’ academic, emotional, and social development, and leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel. The position includes relocation to Hershey, PA, comprehensive benefits, paid training, and relocation assistance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for legally married couples
- Couples must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role model for students
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA and reside on-campus
