Job Summary
Houseparents provide daily supervision, mentorship, and a structured, family-like environment for a group of 8–13 students in on-campus homes. Responsibilities include supervising routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and chapel, overseeing budgeting and reporting, and transitioning from nine-days-on/three-days-off shifts to a placed houseparent role living with the same student group. This is a two-person, full-time role for legally married couples; relocation to Hershey, PA is provided with on-campus housing and benefits. Requires experience with youth, a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouse married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
