Job Summary
Houseparents, Full-Time Flex Houseparents: a two-person, married-couple role located on campus at Milton Hershey School. The position provides care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students in an on-campus student home. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Initially, scheduled nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off; later transitioning to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person around $46,917 with total compensation ~$180,000 per couple (including housing, meals, utilities), comprehensive insurance, retirement benefits, relocation assistance, paid time off, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-year minimum for couples (legally married)
- Two spouses age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
