Job Summary
Houseparents (two-person, full-time) live on campus at Milton Hershey School to supervise and guide a group of approximately 8–13 students in a home setting. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from Flex to Placed Houseparent while maintaining a family-like environment. The position requires a legally married couple with both spouses age 27+, a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits are provided; relocation is supported. Employment applications must be completed separately by both spouses.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two spouses must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
