Job Summary
Houseparents for married couples to reside in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School, providing supervision, care, and guidance to groups of 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from nine-days-on/three-days-off duty to a Placed Houseparent in the same student home. Requires two-person, on-site residence, relocation to Hershey, PA, and a commitment to a faith-informed, smoke- and weapon-free campus.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of marriage (two spouses)
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to lead daily devotions and accompany students to chapel services
- No alcohol permitted while on duty
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Desire to work in a residential setting with youth
- Willingness to reside in on-campus student homes
- Complete individual employment applications for both spouses
