Job Summary
Houseparents provide daily supervision and mentorship for groups of 8–13 students in on-campus student homes, managing household routines, student schedules, medications, and wellness, and leading developmental activities, devotions, and Sunday Chapel. The role is a two-person, married-couple position with a nine-days-on/three-days-off cycle, evolving into a Placed Houseparent living with the same group of students. Responsibilities include guiding student development, budgeting and reporting for the household, driving students to activities, and planning/reviewing recreational and religious activities within a safe, structured, family-like environment. Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- High school diploma or GED required
