Job Summary
Houseparents, Full-Time: Married couples live on campus at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, to supervise, mentor, and support 8–13 students in assigned homes. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing household routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and reporting, and following a nine-on/three-off schedule with a later transition to a placed houseparent role. Relocation assistance is provided, and benefits include comprehensive health coverage, retirement options, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for married couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA if not already residing nearby
- Complete individual employment applications for both spouses
