Job Summary
Houseparents (Full-Time) for Milton Hershey School: a two-person, married-couple role residing in on-campus student homes to supervise and mentor 8–13 students, manage routines, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan developmental activities, lead devotions, and oversee budgeting/reporting. Initially a nine-on/three-off schedule with transition to aPlaced Houseparent; includes relocation assistance, paid training, comprehensive benefits, and housing. Requires a high school diploma or GED, a legally married couple for at least two years (both spouses 27+), and a valid U.S. driver's license. Must be comfortable leading Judeo-Christian chapel services and living in a smoke- and weapon-free campus. Compensation per person is $44,768 annually (approx. $168k total per couple).
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required
- Two-year minimum commitment for married spouses
- Both spouses must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Residence on campus in on-campus student homes
- Ability to follow a structured schedule (nine consecutive days on, three off)
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Proselytizing prohibited; comfortable leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role modeling for students
- Relocation provided for the role
