Job Summary
Houseparents (Full-Time) reside on campus at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, and provide care, supervision, and support for groups of 8–13 students in on-campus homes. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with a nine-consecutive-days-on, three-days-off schedule and transitions to a placed Houseparent assignment with the same student group. Relocation assistance is provided and included benefits cover medical/dental/vision, retirement, life and disability options, and paid time off. A two-person, legally married couple (both 27+) is required, with on-campus housing and full-time employment offered.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years or more of marriage
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel
- Residence on campus in student homes
- Ability to relocate to Hershey, PA for on-campus housing
- Ability to work a nine-on, three-off schedule initially
- Two-person, legally married couple required for this role
