Job Summary
Houseparents, Full-Time for a two-person married couple to reside on-campus in student homes at Milton Hershey School. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship of 8–13 students, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and household reporting, and evolving from Flex Houseparents to a Placed Houseparent role. Requires relocation to Hershey, PA with on-campus housing and benefits; relocation assistance provided. Must be a legally married couple for at least two years, both spouses age 27 or older, and possess a high school diploma or GED. Driving responsibilities, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and adherence to a smoke-free/weapon-free campus with limited alcohol on duty are required. Includes comprehensive benefits and compensation; salary per person is $46,917 (approx. $180,000 total per couple). For consideration, both spouses must complete individual employment applications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
- Committment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
