Job Summary
Houseparents for Milton Hershey School are Full-Time Flex Houseparents for married couples who reside in on-campus student homes and supervise 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with a nine-on, three-off schedule, with a transition to a placed houseparent living with the same group of students. Benefits include per-person salary, comprehensive health benefits, relocation assistance, paid time off, and training. Both spouses must submit individual applications for consideration.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
