Job Summary
Houseparents (full-time) for Milton Hershey School, a two-person married-couple role located on campus in Hershey, PA. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring 8–13 students per home, managing household routines, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and chapel, and handling budgeting and reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off; eventually transition to a placed houseparent in a single student home. Benefits include full-time salary per person plus on-campus housing, meals, comprehensive benefits, and relocation assistance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouse two-year marriage requirement
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and attending Sunday Chapel
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
