Job Summary
Houseparents (two-person married couple) provide on-campus supervision, mentorship, and care for groups of 8–13 students in a family-like home setting. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from a Flex Houseparent to a Placed Houseparent role. Requires on-campus housing in Hershey area, relocation assistance provided, and a commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus with a strong focus on student development and safety. Must be a legally married couple, both aged 27 or older, with a valid driver’s license and ability to drive student vans; high school diploma or GED; willingness to work a nine-on/three-off schedule, with eventual stability in a single student home.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Chapel services
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; ability to serve as role models
