Job Summary
Milton Hershey School is seeking married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents on campus in Hershey, PA (with an on-campus student home). The role involves supervising and mentoring a group of 8–13 students, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Initially, couples work a nine-on/three-off schedule across multiple homes and will transition to living and working with the same student group in their own home. Both spouses must be legally married for at least two years and meet age, licensure, and safety requirements; this is a two-person on-campus living-and-working arrangement requiring relocation to the Hershey campus.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-spouse, legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children in the home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lead daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Chapel services
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role models for students
