Job Summary
Houseparents, Full-Time: Milton Hershey School seeks married couples for on-campus, live-in Flex Houseparent roles in Hershey, PA. Couples reside in student homes with 8–13 students, providing daily supervision, mentorship, and care, including scheduling, medication administration, transportation to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions, and Chapel participation. Initial schedule is nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement in a fixed student home. Relocation assistance and paid training provided; benefits include medical/dental/vision, retirement options, and paid time off. Requires two-person, married-couple eligibility, with both spouses actively applying and meeting stated qualifications.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-spouse marriage for at least two years
- Both spouses aged 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Proven integrity and professionalism; role modeling for students
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA for on-campus residence
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Sunday Chapel services
