Job Summary
Houseparents, Full-Time - a two-person couple role located on Milton Hershey School's campus in Hershey, PA (on-campus student homes). Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring 8–13 students, managing routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and chapel attendance, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a placed houseparent in the same student home. Salary per person listed at $46,917 with comprehensive benefits; relocation assistance and paid training provided.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-spouse couple must complete individual applications
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses aged 27 or older
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- No more than three dependent children reside in the student home
- Commitment to smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services
