Job Summary
Houseparents, full-time on-campus care roles for married couples at Milton Hershey School. Couples reside in student homes, supervise 8–13 students, provide care, guidance, supervision, and support, administer medications, drive students to activities, lead daily devotions, and participate in Sunday Chapel. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty then three days off, with a transition to a placed houseparent living with the same student group. Relocation assistance provided; salary per person around $46,917 plus comprehensive benefits including housing and meals; required to be legally married for at least two years, both spouses 27+, high school diploma or GED, and have a valid U.S. driver’s license. Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
