Job Summary
Two-person married couple will serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School, residing in on-campus student homes to care for approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and house reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition into a Placed Houseparent role living with the same group of students. Includes relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits; salary per person is $44,768 (approximately $168,000 total per couple) with housing, meals, utilities, and more.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Committment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- For consideration, both spouses must complete individual employment applications
