Job Summary
Two-person Full-Time Flex Houseparent role at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA. Couples reside in on-campus student homes and supervise ~8–13 students, providing care, guidance, supervision, and support; duties include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning to a Placed Houseparent role after initial 9-on/3-off cycles. Relocation assistance is provided as part of the benefits package; starting compensation is $44,768 per person (approx. $168,000 total per couple) with full benefits including health, retirement, and more.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
Additional Requirements
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must complete individual employment applications
