Job Summary
Houseparents, Full-Time at Milton Hershey School: a two-person, married-couple role living on-campus in student homes to supervise and mentor 8–13 students, manage household routines and schedules, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan and participate in developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, oversee budgeting and reporting, with a nine-days-on followed by three-days-off schedule and eventual placement in a stable student-home assignment. Responsibilities include daily supervision, mentorship, household management, medication administration, transportation, activity planning, devotional leadership, budgeting, and reporting. Requirements include being a legally married two-person team, both spouses age 27+, high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student vans, physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, willingness to adhere to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus with no alcohol on duty, and commitment to the on-campus living environment. Relocation assistance and paid training are provided; benefits include medical, dental, vision, HSAs/FSAs, life and disability insurance, retirement, and paid time off. For consideration, both spouses must complete individual employment applications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
