Job Summary
Flex Houseparents (two-person couple) live in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School, providing daily supervision, mentorship, and support for 8–13 students; responsibilities include managing routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and chapel, and overseeing budgeting and reporting. The role begins with a nine-on, three-off schedule and can transition to a placed houseparent living with the same group of students; benefits include relocation assistance, comprehensive health benefits, PTO, and paid training. Requirements include experience with youth, a legally married couple (both spouses age 27+), high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and adherence to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus with no alcohol on duty.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
Additional Requirements
- Couples must be legally married for at least two years
- Only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
