Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents needed for Milton Hershey School. Married couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision/mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning development and recreational activities, leading daily devotions, attending Sunday Chapel, budgeting and household reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent living with the same group of students. Relocation to Hershey, PA is required; benefits include medical/dental/vision, retirement savings, relocation assistance, paid time off, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for married couple
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Committment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Pet restrictions: fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
