Job Summary
Houseparents (Full-Time Flex Houseparents) at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA are married-couple, on-campus housing caregivers living with 8–13 students. They provide daily supervision, mentorship, medication administration, transportation to activities, planning/developmental activities, daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting, and household reporting. Initially, a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule, with eventual transition to a placed houseparent role living with the same group of students. Includes relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits; requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and both spouses must be legally married for at least two years and age 27 or older. The role is a two-person, full-time position with on-campus housing and meals. For consideration, both spouses must complete individual employment applications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Two-spouse, legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children in the student home
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Chapel services
- Proficiency in managing household routines and student schedules
- Ability to drive students to activities
- Planned and active engagement in developmental and recreational activities
- Budgeting and reporting responsibilities
- On-campus residence in student homes
- Residence for a nine-on, three-off cycle
