Job Summary
Houseparents for Milton Hershey School are full-time Flex Houseparents for married couples residing on-campus to supervise and mentor 8–13 students, manage household routines and student schedules, administer medications, drive to activities, plan development and recreational activities, lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, oversee budgeting and reporting, with a work cycle of nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off; the role transitions to a Placed Houseparent living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person, relocation assistance, comprehensive insurance, retirement savings, paid time off, and housing/meal provisions. For consideration, both spouses must complete individual applications and be legally married for at least two years, with both spouses aged 27 or older.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
