Job Summary
Houseparents (Full-Time Flex) live on-campus at Milton Hershey School to supervise and mentor a group of 8–13 students, provide care and guidance, manage household routines, supervise student wellness, transport and engage in activities, lead devotions and Chapel attendance, and oversee budgeting and reporting. The role is a two-person, married-couple position requiring both spouses to apply and be employed, with a schedule of nine days on followed by three days off during the initial phase, and a transition into a placed Houseparent role living with the same student group. Relocation assistance is provided. Benefits include comprehensive health coverage, retirement options, PTO, and housing. Qualifications include experience with youth, a valid US driver’s license, high school diploma or GED, a commitment to a smoke- and weapon-free campus, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Complete individual employment applications (both spouses)
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
