Job Summary
Houseparents, Full-Time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, supervision, and support for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Schedule begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off; role transitions to a Placed Houseparent living with the same student group. Benefits include salary per person of $44,768 plus comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance. Must be a legally married couple for at least two years, both spouses age 27+, and meet other caregiving qualifications.
Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
