Job Summary
Two-person married-couple role as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, residing on campus to supervise and mentor a group of 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The position begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent role living and working with the same group of students. Relocation assistance and paid training are provided. Benefits include comprehensive medical/dental/vision coverage, retirement options, and paid time off; salary of $44,768 per person (approximately $168,000 total per couple) plus housing and meals on duty.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role models for students
