Job Summary
Flex Houseparents (two-person team) live in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School and provide care, supervision, mentorship, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, managing student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role starts with a nine-days-on, three-days-off cycle and may transition into a placed houseparent role with the same group of students. The position carries a full-time salary of $44,768 per person (approximately $168,000 total per couple, including housing and benefits) and includes relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, and paid training. Both spouses must complete individual applications to be considered. Relocation to Hershey, PA is required, and on-campus housing is provided as part of the compensation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Experience working with or volunteering with youth
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and to Chapel services (Judeo-Christian)
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Provide daily supervision and mentorship; manage household routines; budget and reporting
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA and live on-campus
