Job Summary
Houseparents provide daily supervision and mentorship in on-campus student homes, managing household routines and student schedules for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational programs, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and maintaining a structured, family-like environment. The role begins with a nine-on, three-off schedule across multiple homes, with progression to a Placed Houseparent living and working with the same student group. Requires a two-person, legally married couple with at least two years of marriage, both spouses aged 27+, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs; valid driver’s license and eventual certification to drive student vans; high school diploma or GED; relocation supported by the employer. Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
